Ms Oxford's observant style is somewhat remininiscent of the master of remembrances - Jean Shepherd. If she continues to write, she may find that she moves further away from the one-liners and several page stories to the rich chapters that made up Shepherd's best work. That said, to even be considered in the late Mr Shepherd's company is to share rare air, indeed.
